The Secret is in The Roast
When it comes to roasting coffee beans, quality must always trump quantity. At least that’s how owner Rebecca Baird sees it. She takes the necessary time to slow roast every batch to bring out that full-bodied caramel flavor.
Many roasters will crank the oven over 500 degrees and have a batch of roasted beans in fifteen minutes, but Rebecca feels that this quick roasting method has a negative impact on flavor. She instead lets her beans roast at a low temperature for a full half hour, and then incrementally increases the temperature over time until she has reached the desired level of roast (light, medium, dark or espresso).
The process takes longer, but the difference in flavor is significant.
And even better, each order is roasted when you make it, not before. This ensures fresh beans with optimal flavor and aroma.
